Welcome to the Iowa Pastel Society

Welcome- and thank you for visiting the website of the Iowa Pastel Society. We are a non-for-profit organization whose mission is to provide members and the public with events to promote and celebrate pastelists and the art of pastel. We accomplish this through exhibitions, educational opportunities, live and virtual workshops, plein air events , and networking opportunities with other artists to elevate the art of pastel.

Iowa Pastel Society (IPS) is a member of the International Association of Pastel Societies (IAPS), a prestigious organization that promotes the fine art of pastel. Our IPS membership with IAPS affords our own members the opportunity to apply for individual associate membership with IAPS and then have the ability to enter IAPS competitions, reach an international community, and strive for advanced memberships such as signature or master pastelist and beyond.

With your membership to IPS your work can be showcased in our organized juried and non juried exhibitions, provide a link to your own website via our members page, earn IPS signature membership, and participate in online and live workshops to enhance your skills and network with other pastelists. We also publish a quarterly member-focused newsletter via email highlighting our members and providing information about our events and pastel opportunities. And be sure to stop by our facebook page. Meet other IPS members- post your paintings, receive comments, ask questions and share your artistic journey and insights.

Iowa Pastel Society welcomes new members. It is not necessary to live in Iowa to be a member and we welcome pastelists from other states as well. Feel fee to contact IPS for any additional information or questions you may have or join our group. We hope to see you soon!
